Your Support helps make Sonoma Plaza History possible
This website and mobile tour is made possible in support from local organizations, communities and friends. We believe that history offers life lessons that need remembering and telling for generations to come.
Donations are tax-deductible, and all are appreciated.
Our goal is to create engaging, bilingual resources geared to helping Sonoma and its visitors learn about the fascinating stories that happened on the Sonoma Plaza.
Our biggest project, a self-directed GPS-enabled walking tour is near complete and we hope to launch this summer.
It focuses on telling stories of Sonoma as you walk the plaza. Please help us get to our goal of launching this summer. You can donate below or you can inquire about being a sponsor here.
Backstory
In 2020, Sonoma Plaza History started working on a concept for our mobile history tour with extensive research in storytelling, design, and technology. SPH made big progress in 2021 when we produced our first prototype and showcased our concept to our first round of donors.
After securing our initial round of funds, we wrote scripts for additional stops narrated in English and Spanish with music and sound effects applied to the finished product. We succeeded in launching our beta test with an initial five stops in English and Spanish with user testing to improve the experience.
Now we are looking to make improvements to the interface, build out the tour and launch this summer. Please consider donating. Thank you!
We'd like to extend a thank you to our Fiscal Sponsor, the Sonoma Community Center
